A reply to the Assistant Principal rating addressed  to the school Principal:

"In all modesty, I believe that as a Biology /Living Environment Teacher

coupled with a license in Medical Technology, I am fully capable

and able to explain to a group of  high school students the relationship

and the function of insulin and glucagon in the body.

My early years in the medical field added to my years

of teaching the subject should at least grant me the

benefit of doubt that I know the role of glucagon and insulin.

A comment like: "The teacher is familiar with the important concepts

in the discipline but displays a lack of awareness of how these

concepts relate to one another. The teacher indicates some

awareness of prerequisite learning, although such knowledge

may be inaccurate or incomplete…." is biased and pure subjectivity.

Such a comment is only  written to justify your Developing under:

Demonstrating knowledge of content and pedagogy.

While you wrote in your introduction: 'Each form must contain

lesson-specific evidence for each of the components observed…

" You did not have any evidence.

Your statement only shows one thing: You are a supervisor with

a subjective tool and it pleased you to use it as you wished.".....

What did I show in that short response? That AP X has

in his/her her hand a tool that he/she did not know how to use.

And when I clarify matter for him/her, as his/ her superior

(The Principal), I would expect you to seat with Supervisor X to analyze,

rectify and correct errors in using the Danielson's Framework.  Respect

put aside, no supervisor, specially one who is not familiar of

a teacher's content, should question the teacher's knowledge

until thorough analysis. Unfortunately, supervisors with a background 

in Social Studies (The AP content) or other fields of study, who spend

a short time teaching in Elementary schools write the same type

of comment for 1a in the Danielson Framework on Science or

Math teachers...
