Our Story

As a passionate educator and mentor, Mr. Emile has dedicated his career to education and student advocacy. Since 1920, he has served as a science educator with the New York  State Department of Education, earning tenure in 2001. As a full-time teacher, he has instructed students in Biology, Earth Science, Environmental Science, and Health. In addition to his work in science education, he has also taught French literature in other educational settings.

 

Throughout his career, Mr. Emile has been a steadfast advocate for students and their families. He has contributed to the development of curriculum for English Language Learner (ELL) students and has served as an attendance coordinator in high-needs, high-poverty schools, where he worked to improve student attendance and support the success of academically at-risk learners.

 

A passionate educator and mentor, Mr. Emile has consistently devoted his time and expertise to inspiring young people, with a particular commitment to mentoring and empowering minority students. His dedication to academic excellence, equity, and student achievement has made a lasting impact on the communities he has served.

 

Combining the analytical mind of a scientist with the creativity and sensitivity of a poet, Mr. Emile has long embraced both science and the humanities. Early in his teaching career, he taught Language Arts to international students, an experience that inspired and complemented his literary pursuits. During that time, he compiled a collection of poems titled "Compilations  of Youth", which is currently being revised for publication in both English and French.

Mr. Emile's most recent literary work focuses on raising awareness of the challenges and inequities within the New York public school system, particularly those affecting students in underserved and economically disadvantaged communities. Through his writing, he seeks to inspire dialogue and advocate for meaningful educational reform.

 

Drawing from his own experiences with workplace mistreatment and bullying, Mr. Emile is committed to giving voice to the experiences of educators who have faced similar challenges. He hopes to document and share accounts from colleagues within the New York State Department of Education and across the United States, with the goal of fostering greater awareness, accountability, and respect for teachers, particularly those serving in minority and underserved communities.

 

Through this work, Mr. Emile seeks to advocate for educational environments where both teachers and students can thrive. He believes that supporting and empowering educators ultimately strengthens opportunities for minority students, helping them develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to build successful and meaningful lives in an ever-changing world.

 

 

Mr. Emile is a passionate advocate for the teaching profession and believes that educators deserve to be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect. He is committed to raising awareness of the challenges many teachers face, including workplace mistreatment, retaliation, and the demanding conditions often encountered while serving students in minority and underserved communities. His message is that teachers are dedicated professionals whose voices should be heard and whose contributions should be recognized and valued.

 

As an extension of this mission, Mr. Emile hopes to establish a forum where educators can share their experiences, support one another, and promote constructive dialogue about the realities of the profession. Envisioned as a resource for both new and veteran teachers, the forum would provide a safe and respectful space to discuss workplace challenges, exchange ideas, and encourage one another while remaining committed to serving low-income and high-risk students with integrity, compassion, and excellence.
